Three US Marines share thoughts about the DynaMax Core Trainer
When Dynaflex International first designed the DynaMax Core Trainer, they had the military in mind. "That's why we were pleased to recently make a number of units available for several US Marines who wanted to try the DynaMax for themselves during a one hour workout," said Tom Smith, President of Dynaflex.
In case you didn't know, the DynaMax Core Trainer is a precision engineered, aircraft quality fitness gyroscope delivering up to 200 pounds of dynamic resistance. Weighing a little over 3 pounds, the DynaMax Core Trainer 2 is designed to provide anybody with a tremendous upper body and core strengthening workout — even if you happen to be a US Marine in top condition.
When the workout had ended, here's what several US Marines had to say about the DynaMax Core Trainer.
Q. We're you surprised by the resistance generated by the DynaMax Core Trainer?
A. "When I saw the core trainer I thought, there is no way this thing is going to do all it says it can. As a Marine and a personal trainer, I try to find new ways to improve my fitness all the time. The DynaMax Core Trainer is now on the top of the list of fitness equipment I use on a consistent basis."
- Gunnery Sergeant David Baker
Q. Is the DynaMax Core Trainer a machine you would use anywhere?
A. "I could definitely use this machine anywhere. It only weights 3 pounds, so it can be carried with you anywhere you go. Plus, it only requires a small amount of space in order to use it. So you don't have to go to the gym to get a good workout."
- Staff Sergeant Nicholas Haight
Q. Could you feel it working?
A. "From the instant you pull the cord and feel the gyro, the core trainer starts to work your body. I could not believe the amount of force this little machine can generate. Since I have been using it, I have noticed an increase in my stamina and endurance and a decrease in the amount of time it takes me to recover between workouts."
- Gunnery Sergeant David Baker
Q. How did it affect you personally?
A. "I could definitely feel myself being fatigued by this machine. I think it does this so effectively because it absolutely does not give you any kind of break. Where as a traditional type of work out, you would have a small period of work followed by a small period of rest, but this forces you to work continuously which makes for a very efficient workout."
- Gunnery Sergeant David Baker
Q. How will the DynaMax Core Trainer benefit you?
A. "This machine is a great all around fitness tool. It can easily be packed in a sea bag or even my small day pack and taken anywhere I go. This would provide a great benefit to me as a Marine especially when deployed. Sometimes we do not have the luxury or time to go to the gym, and the DynaMax Core Trainer would provide me (and many others) the opportunity to improve or just maintain our level of fitness. After becoming familiar with some of the basic techniques, I have moved on to some of the more intermediate exercises and I have noticed that my coordination in the non-dominant side of my body has increased quite a bit. Some of the training we conduct requires the use of fine motor skills and stamina. The core trainer definitely helps tremendously to strengthen and tone the supporting muscles that aid in these movements as well as increases the overall muscular endurance."
- Gunnery Sergeant David Baker
Q. Would you take it on location after deployment?
A. "This is definitely a machine that would provide a benefit on deployment. We do not always have a lot of time or equipment when we are deployed. I think the Core Trainer would be an ideal machine would allow any Marine to get the type and level of workout he or she desires, and it is light, compact and durable so I think it could be considered one of the pieces of equipment we could consider, "Marine Proof".
- Gunnery Sergeant David Baker
Q. Was it tougher than you thought?
"Yes, it was hard. It looked like some sort of futuristic paperweight when I first saw it. That was until I pulled the power cord and started it up. I'll admit it… it kicked my BUTT!"
- Sergeant Landon Prairie
